Individually hand selected pattern
Glasses cases individually hand crafted from vintage Japanese kimono obi silks. The obi is the formal sash worn around the waste of a kimono and were once worn in formal Japanese ceremonies.
Hexagonal shapes means 'kikko' (tortoise shell). In Japanese culture this represents 'happiness & longevity' often used in wedding ceremonial attire.
Note: Vintage silks may show evidence of creasing, age marks, fraying and uneven surfaces.
In some cases they are a silk mix. Woven metallic threads can create a raised surface as they run underneath the silk.
Take care of me:
Suitable for occasional use, not for every day wear. May fray with wear. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Avoid liquids. Due to the obi's being vintage, it is not recommended to wash, surface clean or dry clean.
