I amunique: Abi-K products are individually hand crafted from vintage Japanese kimono obi silks. The obi is the formal sash worn around the waste of a kimono and were once worn in formal Japanese ceremonies.Hexagonal shapes means 'kikko' (tortoise shell). In Japanese culture this represents 'happiness & longevity' often used in wedding ceremonial attire.
Note: Vintage silks may show evidence of creasing, age marks, fraying and uneven surfaces.In some cases they are a silk mix. Woven metallic threads can create a raised surface as they run underneath the silk.
